Libro Credit Union Contributes $10,000 to Wingham Hospital; Investment in Rural Development

Libro Credit Union Prosperity Fund has donated $10,000 to the Wingham & District Hospital’s major redevelopment project.

It is the mission of the Prosperity Fund to invest locally in people, communities and projects that drive prosperity. The donation to the Wingham & District Hospital was made as part of Libro’s commitment to invest in rural development and revitalization.

Libro Branch Manager Debbie Gammie has been a long time champion of the Wingham & District Hospital and hosted a “Sharing the Pie” event in honour of the donation on September 1st. She said, “Hospitals are vital parts of rural communities and the upgrades to the facility will help our Hospital remain a strong community hub and economic driver for years to come”. Libro is proud to share a piece of the prosperity “pie” with this the project.

Foundation Coordinator Nicole Jutzi was also at the event and said, “We are proud to have a community minded organization like Libro be such a strong and loyal contributors, not only of this major project, but of all our initiatives and fundraisers”.

In addition to the $10,000 from the Libro Prosperity Fund, the Libro Owner Reps Committee in Wingham will be further supporting the Hospital cause by hosting a week long fundraiser at the branch during the last week of September culminating with a steak BBQ on Friday, September 30th. All members of the community are invited to attend.
